My Tryst with Jutis

Whims to wear neon to my foot-soles have been my latest appetite and I barely took time to get those fancies packed in form of vibrant pair of Jutis from Delhi streets. On a shopping spree primarily meant for buying little nothings, I was dazed to have the minutely done artwork on these leather, kolhapuri and mojri footwear to go with my Patialas.

A sheer variety bounced upfront including embroidered, beaded, painted patterns.  With the streets brimming with loads of fresh collection of threaded Jutis, the reminiscence of the Craft Classroom in Junior was obvious.  The detailed thread work, the colors, and styles were iridescently irresistible.

But my excitement for these mojaris didn’t stop at the shops, for I could spot women sporting kurti, salwar or Patiala combos or even their regular Jeans-Tees were smartly paired with these Juttis. I was in the midst of a colour-splash, as for me , I was donning a tank-top and jeans combo when I set out, and I fell so in love with this one pair that I let go of my flip flops and slipped on the juttis.
